The Moog Center Vocabulary app is specifically designed to support the development of receptive and expressive vocabulary for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. However, its utility extends beyond this group, making it suitable for diverse learners. Although the app is created in English, the unique design—where picture labels do not appear when vocabulary images are displayed—facilitates vocabulary instruction in various languages.

This application is intended to be utilized under the guidance of adults such as teachers, therapists, or parents, rather than for independent play. A limited selection of vocabulary words is available at no charge, with additional content accessible through in-app purchases. Users can find instructions for navigating the app in the Info section of the menu on the Home Screen.

Featuring over 600 high-quality, colored photographs, this app serves as a valuable resource for teaching vocabulary to toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students. The images represent carefully curated vocabulary lists identified by the Moog Center as essential learning words: the First 100, the Next 150, and an additional 300 words, along with various theme-based vocabulary.

To enhance learning experiences, the Moog Center also offers Thematic Language Units, designed to provide structured guidance for repeated exposure to vocabulary through engaging activities. Each unit includes a comprehensive vocabulary list, recommended books, and several selected activities curated by experienced educators and therapists at the Moog Center.
